Our education initiatives facilitate holistic development and promote inclusion for the marginalized sections. The path finding project in Child Education has set precedence in formal pre-primary education. The complimentary education projects for the slum and remote village students are the first of its kind and relentlessly being implemented by a band of zealous volunteers. The Special Education, again, is an important all-in-one project serving many.

In this era professional skills are important for self-employment. Daily struggles to make ends meet, coupled with lack of employment & career opportunities are the reasons of poverty. That's why we started short term skill development courses for free or at a token cost. Our training in Catering, Tailoring, Electrician, Beautician, Computers and Paramedical Courses are tailor-made for the market needs & provide effective solutions for unemployment.

Skill Development

NRM wing of SPMESM is working with the most adversely affected section of the Global Climate Change- the small and marginal farmers for their Water and Soil Conservation. The Marathawada region of Maharashtra is infamous for its recurrent droughts and its consequences on the human life. Keeping in mind the need of the region, we have started multiple watershed development and micro-irrigation projects that have led to farmers seeing more than 100% increase in their produce.

While working for rural health, SPMESM came across the various root causes and decided to work on them, too. Climate change effects, socio- political problems and volatile markets for agro produce have been contributing towards Agrarian Crisis & agro- based livelihood. Farmer Producers’ Companies, Agricultural Extension projects, Market Linkages and other initiatives by SPMESM are making a significant difference in the lives of farmers.

Women and girls in the semi urban and rural areas are victims of orthodox beliefs and practices that form a vicious cycle inhibiting growth, leading to further complications in adulthood. That's why we started customized & innovative initiatives to cater to their specific needs. These programs saw women from slums uniting to resolve their own issues displaying leadership.

Over years SPMESM has developed strong communication platforms with the intention of Behavioural Change Communication (BCC), an essential component of every developmental project. The latest and important tool is our Community Radio- Radio Deogiri 91.2 FM is already popular with its blend infotainment and awareness programs.

Answering to the SOS call in any disaster, SPMESM has been always on the forefront of Relief Activities.      It has been acknowledged for its selfless and organized relief and rehab work during the early Covid-19 Lock down and Vaccination Drives. It also has been providing fresh, healthy meals to 300 elderly citizen everyday at their doorstep.
